Nirvana

The American rock band was formed in 1987 in Abeerdeen, Washington by singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic. The band had several changes in the drummer selection, the longs lasting and most known is David Grohl who joined the band in 1990.

The band had a 7 year career and only released 3 albums, but that was enough for Nirvana to be remembered as one of the best and most influential rock bands of the modern era.

The band was identified by its song style, their songs most of the time consisted of quiet verses and loud choruses. Nirvana reached success with their first single , Smells Like Teen Spirit, From their second and most successfull album, Nevermind, which was released in 1991.

Nirvanas short but successful career came to an end in 1994 with the death of Kurt Cobain.

The band is one of the best selling music artists having sold over 75 million records worldwide. The Rolling Stone described Nirvana as having kicked in the 1990s musical era, also claimed the band transformed rock for an era, "guaranteed the nineties would not suck". In 2013 the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced Nirvana as a nominee for inclusion.
